I’m baaaack….

Summer is officially over. Well, for all intents and purposes it was unofficially over with the end of the Labor Day weekend. I’ve been a little bit behind as you may have gathered. My blog as well as my book have been in stall mode for long enough. It’s time for me to refocus and either shit or get off the pot. I’m also motivated by the fact that some of you have expressed that they’ve missed my blog. That certainly surprised me, and no, it’s not false modesty. I’ve also been told that my book will be a good read and that I should get it done, especially by my wife, whose opinion I respect and trust. So with that said, I’m back.

I’m an ex cop, not a politician or an economist. That is why I don’t generally delve into those two subjects in my blog. But please bear with me. I had an opportunity to ‘holiday’ (that’s European for vacationing) in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Malmo, Sweden. (Would you believe me if I told you that Chief Scares the Crap Out of Me, the dreaded Indian from Crompond, followed us to Scandinavia? God, how I hate him).

Both are countries which have strong social programs and even principles, of…gasp, socialism, a word which has become synonymous with being infected with herpes in the United States. At least since our President Obama took office. Here are a few reasons why we should fight the dreaded disease of herpes, er I mean socialism:

* 16 months of paid maternity or paternity leave – the parents get to decide how they want to split it between them
* Five weeks paid vacation every year
* Universal healthcare, which the Danes and Swedes don’t seem to complain about too much
* Just about everyone gets a pension from the government
* A work day that ends at 4 or 5 PM. For some reason they believe that being home with your family for dinner is important. And there are not too many businesses open on Sundays.
* A high tax rate. Once again, not too many Danes or Swedes are complaining
* Just about everyone gets around on a bicycle

Now I’m not saying that socialism is the way to go. But the citizens of Denmark, which suffers from the dreaded disease of socialism, has one of the highest standards of living in the world. Food for thought.

Georgia parole board denies clemency for convicted cop killer Troy Davis

Why does it seem that stories like these seem to quite often originate from Bible thumping regions of our country, where religion, guns, football (or pick up trucks) are the holy trinity? The Sunday school I remember taught forgiveness, compassion, and that vengeance was the Lord’s. It also taught me that we all must do the “right thing”. Blood thirsty Bible thumpers (the name of my fantasy football team for next season). Never mind that seven witnesses for the prosecution in Troy Davis case have recanted their original testimony.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia Says Executing An Innocent Man Is Not Unconstitutional

While the Troy Davis case is still fresh in our minds, here is another interesting article. A constitutional scholar I am not. But it seems to me that Justice Scalia along with his puppet, Justice Thomas, should adhere to one of my favorite adages: If it looks like shit and smells like shit, then it probably is shit. The case against Troy Davis reeks with the smell of it. His execution would be a travesty of justice. To state that executing an innocent person in not unconstitutional leaves me with a lot of questions. Maybe it’s time to put Justice Scalia to pasture before it is revealed that he wears nothing under his robe, and masturbates while hearing arguments all while exposing himself to Justice Kagan.

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Justice? Vengeance? You Need Both

Should the purpose of a criminal justice system be to mete out justice or vengeance? Whatever your opinion may be, I wish that we lived in a country, as morbid as it may sound, that faces the dilemma that now confronts Norway – that horrific crimes like this were so rare that we would have to explore what to do when something so terrible shakes us to the core. Unfortunately, murders are so common here that almost nothing shocks us in this country anymore.

An Accuser Gets Her Day, Though Not in Court

I bet New York City District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. thought he had tap danced himself out of the clusterfuck that everyone thought this case had become. Apparently the victim in this case is standing strong and Mr. Vance is going to be forced to either take her to the dance or stand her up. And although Nafissatou Diallo may never be mistaken for Halle Berry, why would she want to have consensual sex with DSK? I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Soldier Held Amid Claim of Terror Plot at Fort Hood

I’m still waiting for the cop haters to come out on this one – the cop haters who are quick to criticize but painfully absent to praise and give credit. To the Police Officers in Killen Texas: “great collar”. On behalf of the lives you potentially saved, I thank you.

Sandi McMillin allegedly kicked out of Walmart for shopping in string bikini, won’t accept apology

The wearing of a Bikini, like the wearing of spandex, is a privilege, not a right!

Coffee and Donuts – Oslo massacre

To all of you who thought that I may have been slightly exaggerating about the wooden Indian who lives in our summer rental, here is the evidence. An imposing figure, even for a storefront Indian Chief that’s carved out of wood. I have yet to give it a name other than to call it Chief Scares the Crap Out of Me. Naming him may imply that I have a sense of fondness for the Chief, which I certainly don’t.

Norway Shooting and Bomb Attack Leaves 91 Dead

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of the horrific massacre that occurred in Oslo. One man armed with a machine pistol and a deep rooted fear and hatred of Muslims and multiculturalism decided to make a statement. But not in the normal and civil manner that one would use to express an opinion. Instead, he decided to use the coward’s preferred method of being heard. A gun and a bomb were the mediums that he used to convey his message. Anders Behring Breivik, 32, does not fit the stereotypical image that most of us have of a terrorist, especially after the events of September 11th. He’s not Arab looking, not a Muslim, and does not come from a country where violence is a part of the everyday struggle to survive. He is in fact just the opposite of the image that America and Europe have of what a terrorist should look like. An image, unfortunately, that has become socially acceptable. An image that has been nurtured by the fuels of hatred, fear mongering, and ignorance. We need to start heeding the words of the experts on domestic and foreign terrorism who claim that future acts of terrorism will mirror the tactics used by Anders Behring Brevik. If we learn anything from the cowardly actions of Anders Behring Brevik, it is that one or two individuals who are heavily or adequately armed can unleash a carnage of indiscriminate violence at one of our nation’s busiest airports, malls, or amusement parks. I also hope and pray that we learn from this unfortunate incident to focus on the real causes that perpetuate terrorism, and not the color of the skin of those who perpetrate it.

Coffee & Donuts: DSK, Oakland PD, Murdochs and more

DSK bedded rape accuser’s mom in ‘brutal’ encounter: claim
This DSK character is a real tool (not that I needed the latest revelations to convince me of this). I told you guys of my firm belief that if it looks like shit and smells like shit, then it probably is shit. It seems that DSK allegedly admitted to his one of his ex wives that he attacked Tristane Banon, a journalist who was interviewing him, and who is also the daughter of Anne Mansouret, who claims to have had a “consensual but brutal” sexual encounter of her own with the former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief about three years before he allegedly attacked her daughter. DSK ‘s reply when confronted by his ex wife: “I don’t know what got into me. I slept with the mother … I blew a fuse when I saw the daughter.” I wonder if it was the same fuse that blew when he saw the Guinean maid in his room at the Sofitel hotel. I assume that by blowing a fuse, DSK is referring to getting one of his uncontrollable erections that can only be relieved by a woman, whether she wants to or not. I truly hope that New York City District Attorney Cyrus Vance is following these developments closely. I wonder if Tristan Banon has ever lied on any official French application or legal document. I hope not. Would the French even care? I also hope not.

In Oakland, Questions About Special Treatment by Police

You really don’t believe that Ignacio de la Fuente and Desley Brooks think that they should play by the same rules that the residents of Oakland do. Police cuts should only affect those in the city of Oakland that really need them. That is, usually those who live in crime-plagued neighborhoods. It’s very difficult to fill an online report of the burglary that you just discovered when the thieves have taken your laptop. Politicians can be such assholes.

Officer Kills Bronx Teenager During Drug-Buy Operation

Once in a while, the good guys win. Thank God for that. Back in my day in narcotics, ripping off one of our UCs (Undercovers) was a cardinal sin. Those that attempted to, or actually did, probably wished that they had been shot instead of the beating they received. You could give a little respect to a drug dealing scumbag, but not to one that ripped off the clients. And to those that would argue that if you legalized drugs incidents like this would not occur, I say you can legalize all the drugs that you want to, scumbags will always be scumbags.

Murdochs Say Top Executives Didn’t Know of Phone Hacking

To Rupert Murdoch and his son James: You are both so full of shit.

Gang rape case of 11-year-old girl in Texas continues to divide small town
So according Angie Woods, “Them boys didn’t rape her, she wanted this to happen.” How can an 11 year old girl want to be brutally gang raped? I don’t know who’s more of a savage, the alleged rapists or the family members who are defending them. All I want to say is that I hope they have enough DNA evidence to convict.

Realco guns tied to 2,500 crimes in D.C. and Maryland
If after reading this article you still feel that we don’t need more stringent gun control, then maybe you need to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and have someone ‘bust a cap in your ass’. Oh, I forgot, you’re one of those responsible gun owners who will be able to defend yourself and others against something like this happening. More the reason why we don’t need any more restrictions on gun ownership. Not!

Coffee and Donuts: Gentrified Food Carts, DSK

Last night was the first night that I spent alone in our summer house with the scary Indian. Well I really wasn’t alone the entire night. My friend Thomas and I sat around talking and catching up on life until about 4 in the morning. It had been a very long day and the 3-4 Jim Beams on the rocks went straight to my head. Needless to say, I passed out immediately upon hitting the bed. I wouldn’t have even have known if the Indian had crawled into the bed and cuddled with me.

Outlaws Make Better Lunches

Leave it to New York City to not only gentrify neighborhoods, but now to gentrify food trucks. What in the word is a high-end food truck? Is that where a hot dog and a soda cost you ten bucks? And now you have the cops chasing away all of food carts because the restaurants are complaining. In a city where crime is on the upswing, you would think that the cops would have more serious issues to deal with.

How Can the Asylum System Be Fixed

Only in America can the ‘credibility’ of a Guinean hotel maid have such far reaching ramifications. Not only did she bring DSK, the “great seducer”, one of the most powerful men in the world to his knees with her accusations of rape, (that’s literally and figuratively, if that so called consensual sex that they had was so good that it made made him weak in the legs), it now looks as if she has brought focus onto an asylum system that is in need of repair. That certainly is important in light of recent events. We have to prevent refugees from being granted asylum to the United States through fraudulent means. Next thing you know, they will be accusing rich and powerful men of committing all types of crimes.

I have just one question for you. If DSK and the now infamous maid did in fact have consensual sex, then why did he resign as the head of the IMF and sabotage his chances for the French presidency. He is known as the “great seducer”, isn’t he? And it seems that the French were okay with this, weren’t they? So okay with it that he was just about a shoo-in for the presidency? So why the resignation if all he did was have consensual sex with a hotel maid? I have a theory that is within my axiom of “if it looks and smells like shit, then it probably is shit.”

To my French comrades, and those that wish they were French, Au Revoir!

France’s Bruni Confirms Pregnancy

When France’s First Lady was questioned as to why she has been so secretive about her pregnancy, she stated, “First in order to protect myself, to avoid having to expose my personal life. It’s a great joy for me, but one that is fairly banal after all.”

I think that the real reason for all of the secrecy is that they were awaiting DNA results – the DNA results that eliminated DSK as the father. I’m only kidding…or am I?

Coffee and Donuts: DSK, Mata and Moreno

To my loyal and eager followers, I apologize for being MIA for the last few days (God I am full of shit). Anyway, I was in New York for a few days, in a little town called Crompond, settling into our summer getaway and trying to work on my book. I also enjoyed spending time with my friend of over forty years and his wonderful family. The owner of the house we’re staying in is an antique collector who’s a bit of an eccentric. She has a 6-foot tall wooden storefront Indian in the middle of the living room. It gives me the creeps and scares the shit out of me every time it catches the corner of my eye. What’s worse is that it’s situated right behind the sofa. So when I’m sitting and writing or watching T.V., I have my back to it. Really creepy. I’ll have to move it or at least cover it with a blanket. And now for Coffee and Donuts, which cops enjoy at any time of the day.

Mata and Moreno’s Previous Late-Night Incident

Interesting article in the Village Voice. It seems that the two disgraced former cops may have had a bit of an attitude problem with those of the opposite sex. I wouldn’t be surprised to read more like this about the exploits of these two shitheads. Maybe it’s a Napoleonic complex, or it could be that they have really, really small dicks. When are they going to be sentenced anyway?

A Vigorous Prosecution of Strauss-Kahn Is Urged

One of the few articles that I have read on the DSK that makes sense and echoes my sentiments. Mr. Perkins wrote:

“To preserve the principle of due process, the decision to bring charges should be decided on its merits, not the character of the victim or the victimizer. If anything less than due process is delivered in this case, then justice will have been unduly denied.”

I thought that the purpose of a criminal trial was to determine guilt or innocence, not about winning and losing, which seems to be what Mr. Vance is concerned with. Let the jury decide.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s feature. I’m trying to decide if I should do a follow-up on getting pulled over (the things not to do if you are), or should I answer one of the questions that was forwarded to me, “Do all cops cheat on their wives”? I would have to confer with my attorney regarding the liability issues that may arise from my answering this question honestly. I wonder if it was a man or a woman who posed this question. I think I’ll have another donut.

Coffee and Donuts – DSK, Casey Anthony, NYPD rape trial

Casey Anthony murder trial verdict leaves prosecutor stunned by jury’s not guilty ruling

It looks like DNA evidence is in and circumstantial evidence is out. Well DNA has been in for quite sometime now. I fear that it has now become the sole barometer of guilt or innocence in criminal trials.  No DNA evidence, no conviction. I see the day coming when the District Attorneys Office will determine whether or not to prosecute a case on the availability of DNA evidence. Who bears responsibility for this prevailing belief? Do we blame science or television?

Dominique Strauss Kahn faces further claim of sexual assault

Maybe the victim in the DSK assault case has given newfound courage to other women who may have been victims of DSK. It seems that Tristane Banon could have been another victim of the “great seducer” had it not been for a well placed kick to a part of his anatomy – the part that he enjoys forcing into the mouths of women. Let’s see if the French press portrays  Tristane Banon as narcotrafficker, money laundering, money grubbing, lying crack ho.

French See Case Against Strauss-Kahn as American Folly

Who really cares about how the French feel about how the DSK case has been handled? It apears that we have reawakened a dormant anti american feeling in France. If the French really feel that strongly about it, maybe they should just boycott visiting the U.S. We in turn could do the same. Let’s see who cries uncle first. This coming from a country where men treat women as “boy toys,” where women endure sexual harassment because it’s considered part of their culture. Tristane Banon, the latest DSK accuser saids it best, “I didn’t want to be known to the end of my days as the girl who had a problem with the politician.”

Documentary footage sinks rape-case probe; accused cops seek mistrial

The only hope for a small sliver of justice for the Gap executive who accused two former New York City Police Officers of rape (they were subsequently acquitted, but convicted of official misconduct) may be lost. It appears that Lisa Friel, who at one time headed the Sex Crimes unit, might have had a touch of celebrity fever. The desire for fame, fortune and her own reality show may be cause for a Judge to declare a mistrial on the official misconduct conviction. I have a great idea for the name of her new show: “Law and Morons”.
